Our journey of care on the South Side, written together
2003: Where Our Journey Began
Dr. Paulette Eason-Williams began providing behavioral health services through Heuristic Quest Foundation, a for-profit practice located at 9453 S. Ashland Avenue, Suite 3, on Chicago's South Side. Her vision was to provide compassionate, culturally responsive care to individuals and families in underserved communities.
2009: A Mission to Give Back
Driven by a desire to give back to underserved communities, Dr. Williams established Heuristic Quest HeadQuarters (HQ2) as a nonprofit organization to expand access to care and pursue government funding opportunities. Operating from Suite 14 at 9453 S. Ashland Avenue, HQ2 continued serving the community despite the challenges of a 22-step walk-up.
2014: Removing Barriers, Expanding Opportunities
In August 2014, we relocated to Brainerd Medical Center at 1222 W. 95th Street, overcoming the accessibility limitations of our former second-floor offices that had restricted grant eligibility. This move created new opportunities to serve individuals with disabilities, secure funding, and expand community-based care.
2020: Connecting a Disconnected World
When the COVID-19 pandemic disrupted in-person services, Dr. Williams applied her doctoral training in telehealth to provide counseling by telephone and video. The overwhelming community response contributed to nearly 200% growth in services, demonstrating the power of technology to overcome isolation and barriers to care.
2025: Meeting you where you are
Today, HQ2 serves individuals, couples, and families across Chicago's South Side entirely by phone or video, with Medicaid, Medicare, and uninsured clients all welcome.
